Anne of Green Gables Peg Dolls & House

So, here is my latest project. I finished it yesterday for my 2 yr old granddaughter. Her mom is a huge Anne of Green Gables lover. I purchased the house from Dollarama for $4. I carefully pried the back off with an exacto knife...it took a bit of time and patience. I then used the back to make the top floor. I forgot after I cut the back that I really wanted to put hinges on it so the people could be contained inside. :(, but it turned out really cute anyway. I used craft sticks to support the floor. I glued everything with tacky glue...it really worked well. I used scrapbooking paper for the wall paper and carpet, glued with tacky glue. Everything was finished off with a couple of coats of glossy sealer! Min saw it before her birthday when I was spraying the people outside. She said she wanted to play with the people. Hello all!
I'm not sure how many people read this but I need to be better at blogging and updating my stuff. I have been busy working on a few projects. One of those projects is preparing for my Level 10 Royal Conservatory Examination for piano! After 33 years I had the opportunity to take lessons again. It has been tough and a bit of a leap of faith, but I'm enjoying it. One of my reasons was to learn music harmony. I have been working hard at the practical side of things though. I have added more to my Etsy shop. I now have a Space Mobile Pattern available, A Deer and Flower Mobile Pattern, and Rainbow Mobile Pattern. I designed the Space Mobile for my new grandson.

I designed the Deer and Flower Mobile for a former piano student and friend's new baby, and the Rainbow Mobile was designed at the request of a customer.

I am also working on a pattern for little rag dolls. I will have some of the actual dolls for sale on Etsy when I get the clothes made for them. They are pretty fun to make, not practical at all, which is why they are a little more fun. After a bit of trial and error I've found a really great way to make the yarn hair seem more realistic so that little girls can braid it or have it down. Here's a sneak peek!
